Is The Flute Lady painting real?

Yes, The Flute Lady is a real painting. However, the piece, also known as Girl with a Flute, proved not to be a work of Johannes Vermeer. That's the artist to whom the work was credited when the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., obtained it as a donation in 1942. Scholars working at the museum announced in 2022 that an analysis of the technical features of the painting confirmed that an unknown Dutch painter produced it.
