Jeanne Paquin is famous for her work as a fashion designer. In 1891, she founded her own atelier, the Maison Paquin, from which she produced romantic yet exotic garments for her prestigious clientele. Many people credit Paquin as being the first financially successful female fashion designer. For her achievements, she was named to the French Legion of Honor in 1913.
