What sculpture is Donatello best known for?

Opinions differ as to which sculpture Donatello is best known for. One of his most famous pieces is a carved wood sculpture called The Penitent Magdalene, which is now in the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo in Florence, Italy. Another is a bronze sculpture entitled David. It is presently part of the Museo Nazionale del Bargello collection, also in Florence.
