Émile Hermès, grandson of the French luxury fashion label’s founder Thierry Hermès, made the first of Hermès watches as a gift for his daughter in 1912. In 1978, the brand opened a location specifically for manufacturing watches in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. Movements for Hermè watches have been made by Jaeger-LeCoultre, Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet and other manufacturers over the years.
