About the Item
Luciano Gaspari (Venice, 1913 - 2007) trained at the Venice Academy of Fine Arts, developing a personal pictorial language that over the years has ranged from realism to abstraction. He regularly participated in the Venice Biennale and the Rome Quadrennial, receiving significant recognition since the 1930s. His pictorial research is distinguished by a balance of formal rigor, attention to color and technical experimentation.
The painting is a textural abstract work made in oil on canvas, measuring 61 × 28.5 cm, around the 1980s. The composition has two color areas: dark tones tending toward brown prevail in the upper section, while lighter shades of beige, cream, and yellow can be seen in the lower section. The use of color and material generates a pictorial surface of remarkable visual depth.
The work bears the signature "L. Gaspari" on the right, halfway up, and on the back has the pencil inscription "GASPARI." The state of preservation is excellent.
