Il disegno a matita grigia e rossa raffigura un intenso ritratto frontale di un fanciullo con cappello, con le braccia incrociate davanti. While the face is much more detailed, the body is only hinted at by short contour lines.
On the back, in cursive handwriting in red pencil, is probably the signature, dedication, or subject of the portrait but so far it has not been possible to be able to interpret (it seems to read the name Chris Puke), there is also the date 1782.
On stylistic grounds and because of the writing on the back, the design can be attributed to a transalpine hand, probably British or German.
