About the Item
Animalier and female illustrator of the Golden Age, Gladys Emerson Cook, draws a tension-filled picture of two Scottish Terriers fighting over a stick. With a few lines, the artist conveys the drama of the moment and gets the dog's complex anatomy correct, which is a testament to her deep academic knowledge. Captioned: " Now you pull". Signed lower right and framed in an inexpensive period wood frame. Framed 11.2 x 9.25.
Most likely an interior illustration from one of her many books.
