Condition : The oval one on the left with foxings (see photographs please)
framed under glass 20 x 40 cm
The subject, the spirit and even the execution of these two drawings are obviously reminiscent of the works of Edouard Detaille. We know just how much this artist loved drawing horses. But they are clearly not by him, but by an artist of the same period. The end of the 19th century marked a golden age for the academic art of depicting soldiers and horses. These two drawings are a very good example.
