This piece, titled "Ouvrier"is an original artwork by Anuj Shrestha, made in part of his traveling artist residency with The Jaunt. Through the program, Shrestha was able to travel to Paris from Philadelphia and become inspired from being in a new environment. He rendered commuters, students, and passerby on the street in his distinct, fine line illustration style. This unique piece is made of made from pen and ink on paper. This piece measures 21"h x 17"w and is shipped in the featured white frame.
Anuj Shrestha (b. 1977) is an illustrator and cartoonist currently residing in Philadelphia after having lived in nearly all four corners of the United States. He completed his BFA at The University of Colorado at Boulder in 1999 and his MFA in Illustration at The School of Visual Arts in 2005. His illustration work has appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Washington Post, ProPublica, Wired and Playboy, among others; and has been featured in the Society of Illustrators and American Illustration annuals. He has won two gold medals for his comics from the Museum of Comics and Cartoon Art Festival Awards of Excellence and a gold medal from The Society of Illustrators. His comics include Both/And (Issue Press, 2022) and New Fears (Issue Press, 2018) in addition to numerous self published zines and sketchbook collections.
