Artist's signature graffiti style of comic relief for subway notice posters, often relating unfortunate news to the public of delays or changes to the regular schedule. Portrait of The Count (aka Count von Count), the friendly vampire Muppet from the 1970s original children's television series Sesame Street, meant to parody Count Dracula. Black and white poster with pink, purple, green, red, brown, yellow illustration of character with the text, "7! THE 7 WILL NOT RUN. HA, HA, HA! WAIT! I LIVE OFF THE 7!!!" written inside of a block word bubble. The character is holding a circle with the number 7 on it just like the logo for Manhattan's number 7 train line.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
For the past 12 years, NYC-based street artist City Kitty has been pasting elaborate, hand-drawn scenes of an adventurous street cat onto buildings, subway stations and alleyways throughout North America and Europe. Best known for his large-scale drawings of cats and humans with extraneous facial features, City Kitty has created an alternate urban reality with a touch of double vision and a psychedelic twist. His work is featured prominently on the streets of New York, London, Barcelona and Berlin, among others.
