The Shadow is an original artwork by Gabriele Galantara.
The artwork realized in China ink and watercolour, in good conditions, except for some stains and pencil notes on the back of the cardboard.
Gabriele Galantara (1865-1937) was a journalist and one of the leading Italian caricaturists and cartoonists.
"The donkey" weekly magazine published in 1892 of which Galantara signed the illustrations, met the favor of the public. The aim of the satire were episodes of political malfeasance.
