About the Item

Born in Amsterdam in 1868, Hendrick Maarten Krabbe attended the Academie des Beauz-Arts d’Amsterdam where he studied with August Allebe. Krabbe was known for his genre paintings, portraits and paintings of children, toys and cats. At the Universal Exposition in Paris in 1900, Krabbe won a bronze medal. Krabbe also exhibited at the Grande Exposition de Bruxelles in 1910.
