Welcome to Heritage, our carefully curated collection of French vintage and antique paintings. We scour the flea markets and fairs for these gems: poignant portraits of long-gone Mesdames and Messieurs, exquisite little landscapes and provocative modern abstracts. We love them for their pure authenticity, their forgotten beauty and way they shine on our walls. Vive l’art!
Some of the works in the Héritage are in great shape and gorgeously preserved. Others need a little TLC … or their age and patina and crustiness contribute to their appeal. Some are portraits that feel like old friends, leading to vivid speculation about their imagined history and provenance. Others are just exquisitely painted oils, pastels, or drawings that tugged at our hearts and needed to come home with us. All were purchased because we loved them and appreciated the strong hand with which they were painted. And we believe a touch of Heritage will add a beautiful collected feel to any tasteful, modern décor.
