A very fine charcoal with gouache highlights by the well established French painter and illustrator Léon Benett. Benett has maintained a high level detail despite the overall darkness of the charcoal medium. The scene depicts a number of figures by a railway tanker preparing the pipeline. It is signed to the lower left corner, and is well presented in a card mount and a gilt effect frame. Signed. On wove.
