This is an original pencil drawing by Mihaly von Munkácsy.
It was made in preparation for the oil painting "Tramp at Night" from 1873.
The work is stamp signed at the lower right corner.
It is also titled in violet ink by the wife of the artist, Cecile Bannewitz (?) Munkácsy, ""Les rôdeurs de nuit" v. Munkácsy" in the lower left corner.
The verso bears the pencil sketch titled "Seated Man", inscribed in violet ink from the artist's estate.
Provenance: Private collection, Germany.
The work is accompanied by a photo certificate of authenticity from 24th Jun 2003, issued by the expert Mrs. Judit Boros.
Condition: Very good condition. Surface dirt. Remains of tape verso.
