"Satyr and Nymph"
A satyr is a male spirit of nature, always nude, who walks upright on legs usually shown as goat’s legs. Nymphs are female spirits, who rule over rivers and ponds, who played naked in the company of satyrs.
Part of "NeoMythology" series. Original work on colored paper. Comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.

These three drawings from the Neo Mythology series exhibit a dynamic fusion of classical themes with expressive, contemporary mark-making. The artist employs sepia ink on blue-gray paper, a combination that evokes the aged, timeworn quality of ancient frescoes or aged manuscripts. The use of loose, gestural lines and washes of ink adds movement, depth, and emotional intensity, while the selective use of blue hints at a subtle yet purposeful color contrast.
"Satyr and Nymph"
This composition is the most dramatic in the series, capturing a nymph draped over the lap of a satyr, whose horned head and mischievous gaze suggest a primal, Dionysian energy. The exaggerated reclining pose of the nymph, with limbs loosely spilling over the satyr’s support, creates a sensual yet ambiguous scene—does it depict seduction, surrender, or force? The vertical column beneath them reinforces a sculptural effect, reminiscent of Baroque mythological compositions where figures seem to tumble downward in a moment of suspended movement. The dripping ink at the base of the column gives the impression of decay or melting time, reinforcing the ephemeral nature of myth.
These three works together form a compelling exploration of mythological themes, specifically focusing on the tension between the human and the bestial, love and power, fate and free will.
