About the Item
Beaulieu Carabacel. Project for ballroom entrance is a splendid project of décor made by an artist that signed in an unreadable way (“Jann”) on the lower right of the work. There could also be the date “903”. Below the signature, there is a long inscription in French that describes technically the realization of the project. The state of preservation is excellent, except for some small folds of the paper on the margins.
Beaulieu Carabacel is a place in a neighborhood in Nice with the ballroom for which the artist realized this project.
This is a beautiful, joyous and colorful artwork, drawn with masterful draftsmanship. The project refers to the taste of the early 1900 in France named “Art Nouveau”: modern, naturalistic, and magnificent.
