Several cavaliers in elaborate period dress gather around a table within a grand manor interior in this richly detailed watercolour by Samuel A. Rayner (1806-1879). Natural light streams through a large window, illuminating the space and reflecting upon a heaped pile of golden armour, shields and weaponry. Monogrammed and dated to the lower right. On paper laid to board. Image size: 29.5 x 34cm.
