BENOIS ALBERT NIKOLAEVICH (1852 – 1936)
The greatest master of watercolor painting of the second half of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. In his work, he continued the academic traditions.
For his success in watercolor painting, he received a scholarship from the Council of the Imperial Academy of Arts, for his work abroad, and during 1884, he visited Italy, Tunisia, Paris and London.
Upon his return, he was awarded the title of academician for a series of Italian landscapes.
