Vintage watercolor painting showing the historic Palais Garnier Opera house and the Cafe de la Paix in Paris by Girard Lambert. The iconic facade of the opera house and the historic red and yellow striped awnings of Cafe de la Paix are a recognizable Parisian sight, which have been depicted by many famous and amateur artists. This particular rendition simplifies the ornate detailing to looser brush strokes and larger shapes. The Palais is depicted at an angle, with parts of it obscured by the cafe's awning.
Signed and dated in bottom right, "G. Lambert 62."
