The artwork represents the scenery a crowd, gathering around a man who is speaking, through black color, skillfully depicted by quick and confident strokes. Jan Peter Verdussen (Antwerp, c. 1700 - Avignon, 31 March 1763) was a Flemish painter, draftsman. He is well-known for his battle scenes, field life incidents and equestrian paintings. He also paints landscapes with hunting scenes, gallant companies, and genre scenes on the markets.
