About the Item
Delicate and meticulously rendered, Two Dandelions by Margot Glass is a silverpoint drawing on toned paper that showcases the artist’s masterful technique and deep appreciation for botanical form. Silverpoint, a centuries-old medium favored by Renaissance artists, uses a silver stylus to create fine, permanent lines that softly tarnish over time, adding richness and depth. In this work, Glass captures the intricate textures of dandelion seeds, buds, and serrated leaves with stunning precision. The composition balances scientific observation with poetic beauty, transforming a common weed into an elegant study in detail and light. This piece exemplifies the quiet complexity and craftsmanship that define Glass’s work, making it a standout for collectors of contemporary botanical and works on paper.
