About the Item

"Winter Sunset" is a dramatic and deeply atmospheric watercolor that captures the brief, intense burst of color that illuminates a cold, quiet winter evening. The painting evokes a moment of profound contrast between the frigid atmosphere and the fleeting warmth of the sun's final rays. The composition features a powerful use of contrasting color harmonies. The vast, expansive sky is rendered in a deep wash of velvety purple and slate blue, which gives way to an almost explosive line of fiery pink, rose, and brilliant gold along the horizon. This intense glow is mirrored softly in the foreground's snow-covered field or frozen water, which is painted with cool, layered blues, capturing the reflective quality of the icy surface. The dark, dense silhouette of the tree line anchors the piece, emphasizing the drama of the light above. This stunning piece is ideal for collectors who appreciate expressive, moody landscapes and the way watercolor can convey both the immense cold and the passionate, fleeting beauty of a natural phenomenon. Olga Ibadullayeva is an accomplished fine artist currently based in Singapore, distinguished by a profound classical foundation and a dynamic, experimental approach. Her artistic journey commenced at the age of four in Ukraine, culminating in a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design from the prestigious Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts (KSADA). This academic rigor is supplemented by further specialization in Oil Painting from LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore (2017). Rooted in traditional methods, Olga proficiently employs oil and watercolor to execute her vision. Her work serves as a contemplative counterpoint to modern life, aiming to help viewers "take a breath from the daily rush" and reflect on the extraordinary within the ordinary. She masterfully captures "the small invisible things" and "remarkable events" of daily existence. Olga's international exhibition record includes solo and collective shows in Italy and Singapore, such as the solo exhibition at the PassepARTout Unconventional Gallery in Milano (2023). Her pieces are recognized and collected, notably featured in a curated selection on The Saatchi Gallery, London, UK. The team of curators of the Art-S-Gallery.

Watercolor of the Oak Tree by Allen Tucker
By Allen Tucker
Located in Hudson, NY
Landscape watercolor by Allen Tucker of an oak tree. This piece, along with several others, was gifted to Una Brage, a friend of the artist in the 1930s. More about this artist: Allen Tucker, was an architect and painter so influenced by Vincent Van Gogh that he was called "Vincent in America". (Gerdts 291) Robert Henri and Maurice Prendergast were also credited as having an influence on Tucker's brushwork and compositions, the latter decisively. However, as his painting evolved, he did not fit into any tidy slot for description and was known as an individualist not easily categorized in American art history. Tucker was born in Brooklyn in 1866 and graduated from the School of Mines of Columbia University with a degree in architecture and took a job as an architectural draftsman in the architectural firm of McIvaine and Tucker, his fathers business. During that time, he studied painting at the Art Students League with Impressionist John H. Twachtman, but it was not until around 1904, when he was 38, that Tucker became a full-time painter, leaving architecture behind. Many of his early canvases were classically Impressionistic with poplar trees resembling those of Van Gogh and haystacks and corn shocks...
