Description: This serene watercolor by Pierre Neveu depicts a sweeping riverside landscape with a cluster of French village houses set against gently rising hills. The work is signed and inscribed “Hericy”, identifying the scene as Héricy, a historic commune on the Seine near Fontainebleau. Héricy is known for its peaceful riverbanks, traditional farmhouses, and views of the Seine Valley—an environment perfectly suited to Neveu’s expressive and atmospheric style.

A fresh and charming view of trees in a landscape. Decaux has used simple, fluid but strong strokes for this composition.
