Description: This vibrant village landscape by French Post-Impressionist painter Pierre Neveu captures the warmth, colour, and architectural charm of rural Provence. The composition centres on a cluster of yellow-painted houses with terracotta tiled roofs — a hallmark of Southern French hill towns — set against a brilliant blue sky and framed by lush greenery. Neveu’s handwritten inscription “Rudinal” at the lower right suggests a specific local setting or hamlet, reinforcing the authenticity of the work as a plein-air study made directly on site.
The artist’s distinctive style is immediately recognisable: dynamic brushwork, expressive ink lines, and radiant colour harmonies.
