Vivid watercolor of a country house and grove of trees in a rural landscape of rolling green hills, with farm animals in the distance, by California artist Rene Weaver (American, 1897-1984). Signed and dated "Rene Weaver '46" lower right. Painted wood frame, no glass. Image, 18"H x 23"L.
Weaver graduated from the University of Idaho and studied figure and landscape painting with Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann in Portland. He had a studio at Sansome and Market streets in the Flatiron Building, San Francisco and was a member of the California Art Club.
