From London with Love is an intimate drawing series by Shizico Yi, composed of en plein air studies capturing quiet, private moments between the artist and the city of London. Drawn in beloved corners of the capital, each work reflects a pause in movement—a moment of attention, affection, and reflection.
This painting features historic sculptures in from of Buckingham Palace; Winged Victory, standing atop a globe with Constancy and Courage beneath her, in front of Buckingham Palace, looking toward The Mall where the nation flags line-up into the end of Trafalgar Square.
Over the past two decades, Shizico has honed her drawing practice through sustained study of the Old Masters in museums and galleries. Gradually, London—its architecture, atmosphere, and quiet, everyday poetry—has found its way into her line. These drawings are, in essence, love letters to the city: tributes to place intertwined with personal memory and shared moments with loved ones.
Each scene captures not only a view, but a memory—honoured and elevated through the deliberate use of ink and gold leaf on paper.
This series sits beautifully alongside Shizico Yi’s broader Memory Landscape and Constant Gardener projects, offering a quieter, more immediate register of observation—where drawing becomes both devotion and diary.

With design and film background, Shizico combines her interests making installation projects which relate to artist's personal life in relation to the society and human condition at large.
Shizico Yi holds a PhD in Fine Art awarded by UEL, UK 2017; she had completed a Master in Fine Art with a BA in Womenswear from UAL. London. She is also the Winner of Women Film Makers: Best Shorts Competition 2013 Los Angels. USA.
