Drawing made in India ink on paper by a Flemish painter in the late 17th century: c. 1680.
Flemish art is known for its great attention to detail, chiaroscuro effect, and technical mastery. In the case of ink drawings, the Flemish tradition shows a deep precision with fine, defined lines.
The work shows a typical Dutch landscape with a castle and a township. In the center is a bare tree, which seems to divide the scene in two, and people walking by. On the back of the design is an inscription.
The state of preservation is good. The upper right corner of the drawing is slightly torn. The work has a backing board measuring 35x25 cm, has a non-coeval frame measuring 40x31 cm.
