Nude woman laying down by Santa Cruz and San Francisco artist Heather Speck (American, b. 1978). The model is on her side, facing away from the viewer, head propped up in her hand. Her other hand is resting on her hips. The dark background contrasts with the subject, creating a strong outline. Highlights have been added in white, adding depth to the composition.

Heather Speck exhibited in San Francisco. She studied figure and non objective painting. Her broad brush strokes and bold colors are in the style of San Francisco Figurative movement artist James Weeks and William Daw. Unsigned, from a collection of her signed works we acquired from a retired San Francisco framing studio.
