This is a rare original Post-war illustration drawing, hand-painted with gouache on Arches Velum paper by French artist C. Villars (France, 20th Century). The modernist composition shows a jet with a map book in the background, focusing on South American and French countries. On the side, we can see the hands of a woman and a man, an imaginative nod to the golden age of air travel. The drawing was created as a concept for STAR, a mid-century airline. The illustration is signed C. Villars in the bottom left corner.
This artwork was likely later printed in a larger size for advertising posters, but it is the original painting by the poster's designer.
The drawing is framed in a modern black wood frame with a silver accent and an off-white matte finish, protected by glass.
