About the Item

Devie Elzafon (Israeli, born 1957) "My Little Companion" 2020 Permanent marker, acrylic paint, ink, on paper Signed on the bottom left of the artwork. In “My Little Companion,” the quiet tenderness between a woman and her small bird is portrayed through her signature minimalist style. With just a few deliberate lines and touches of color, she creates a composition that feels both intimate and timeless. The soft yellow of the bird contrasts gently with the woman’s dark eyes and graceful features, evoking themes of affection, trust, and simple beauty. Her refined, modern portraits celebrate femininity and emotional connection, distilling complex feelings into pure form. A charming and evocative piece, “My Little Companion” embodies Devie’s ability to transform minimal gestures into deeply expressive art. About the Artist: Devie is an Israeli-born artist whose work celebrates the quiet strength and emotional depth of women through a modern, minimalistic lens. Having painted throughout her life, Devie has developed a distinctive visual language defined by graceful lines, serene compositions, and a refined use of color and negative space. Her portraits of women capture moments of contemplation, resilience, and inner beauty. Each painting reflects her intuitive understanding of balance and emotion, revealing not just the figure but the spirit within. Now based in the United States, Devie continues to explore the intersection of abstraction and portraiture, drawing inspiration from the simplicity of form and the complexity of human presence. Her work has resonated with collectors for its sense of stillness, intimacy, and modern elegance.
