About the Item
This beautifully executed interior study depicts a young child seated at a chalkboard, absorbed in creativity as he draws animals from a picture book. Wasse skilfully captures the young artist in-situ, with elements of the room meticulously painted in watercolour. A large wooden trunk, artist materials on shelf, and a large curtained window anchor the central figure. The work is well presented in a glazed burr maple frame, complete with the original signed artist label verso. Signed and dated in the lower left. On paper.
