Balloon Dog (Blue)
Located in Malmo, SE
Balloon Dog (Blue) 2021. Porcelain with metallic chromatic coating Limited edition of 69/799 ex. Certificate of authenticity and the original box. Incised signature, edition number, titled and dated on the underside. Produced by Bernardaud, Limoges, France. Jeff Koons is an American pop artist, born in York, Pennsylvania in 1955 to a mother who was a seamstress and a father who worked as an interior decorator. He is known for working with popular culture subjects and for his reproductions of banal objects. His works have sold for important amounts, including one world record auction price for a work by a living artist. Jeff Koons had an early interest in art and as a teenager he admired Salvador Dalí. He studied painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. As a student he met the artist Ed Paschke who became a major influence and for whom he worked as a studio assistant in the late 1970’s. In 1977 Jeff Koons moved to New York City where he worked at the Museum of Modern Art whilst establishing himself as an artist. In the 1980’s he began working as a Wall Street commodities broker in order to finance his art projects. He wanted to be independent from the art market and has expressed that: ”I could make exactly what art I wanted to make. And I would always know that I didn’t need the art market.” In the mid-1980’s Jeff Koons gained prominence and recognition as part of a generation of artists who explored the meaning af art in a media-saturated era. He set up a factory-like studio in a SoHo loft with over 30 assistants. Since his first solo exhibition in 1980 Jeff Koon’s work has been shown in major galleries and institutions throughout the world. His work was the subject of a major exhibition organized by the Whitney Museum of American Art, Jeff Koons: A Retrospective in 2014, which traveled to the Centre Pompidou Paris and then further to Guggenheim Bilbao in 2015. His most recent series, Gazing Ball Paintings, was exhibited for the first time at Gagosian Gallery, New York in 2015. The artist has earned renown for his public sculptures, such as the monumental...

Signed by hand COA provided Ref.: 924802-1809 *Made to Order Every piece is unique, design might differ slightly Customization possible **Lead time approx. 2 weeks for qty 1-3 495 780 Her work references exclusive and precious porcelain wares from 18th-century Europe. In her work she tries to capture the qualities for which porcelain has been known since its discovery in China: whiteness, translucency, and resonance. She is attracted to the enameled and lustered surfaces of the Baroque, Renaissance and Rococo porcelain designs, as well as to elaborations on structural elements of these time periods. She is investigating surface decorations and embellished shapes in order to gain more knowledge for my own studio practice. Sherman is interested in incorporating and referencing historic drawings, motives, and patterns into her work. Studying the history of ceramics Sherman has been captivated by the relationship between East and West, and how they continue to influence each other, especially through the ceramic arts. Although there might be considerable differences between the two civilizations, the cultural exchange between them is an important connector of history and has produced a long and rich exchange of ideas between artists and makers. Asian craft traditions have been handed down to the West and the handmade aspect, even within the factory setting, is still an important concept that allows for control of design and quality by the artist, which is essential within craft of the West. Faust - Limoges Porcelain Blue and Gold
Located in Collonge Bellerive, Geneve, CH
Limoges porcelain in "Bleu de Sèvres" and gold. Artist: Salvador Dali Exclusive limited edition to 2000 copies "Raynaud & Co. Limoges", France, 1968. "Faust" drawn by Salvador Dalí. Print signed. Plate Signed in the back of the plate Dimensions: Diameter: 26 cm Edited by Salins Earthenware Sold in its original box The company "Raynaud-Limoges" specialized in the production of porcelain products in small runs, among the company's customers - crowned people and representatives of the old aristocratic families of Europe. Dali - the Prodigy Child without an Exam. Salvador Dali was born as the son of a prestigious notary in the small town of Figueras in Northern Spain. His talent as an artist showed at an early age and Salvador Felipe Jacinto Dali received his first drawing lessons when he was ten years old. His art teachers were a then well known Spanish impressionist painter, Ramon Pichot and later an art professor at the Municipal Drawing School. In 1923 his father bought his son his first printing press. Dali began to study art at the Royal Academy of Art in Madrid. He was expelled twice and never took the final examinations. His opinion was that he was more qualified than those who should have examined him. In 1928 Dali went to Paris where he met the Spanish painters Pablo Picasso and Joan Miro. He established himself as the principal figure of a group of surrealist artists grouped around Andre Breton, who was something like the theoretical "schoolmaster" of surrealism. Years later Breton turned away from Dali accusing him of support of fascism, excessive self-presentation and financial greediness. By 1929 Dali had found his personal style that should make him famous the world of the unconscious that is recalled during our dreams. The surrealist theory is based on the theories of the psychologist Dr. Sigmund Freud. Recurring images of burning giraffes and melting watches became the artist's surrealist trademarks. His great craftsmanship allowed him to execute his paintings in a nearly photo-realistic style. No wonder that the artist was a great admirer of the Italian Renaissance painter Raphael. Salvador Dali and Gala. Meeting Gala was the most important event in the artist's life and decisive for his future career. She was a Russian immigrant and ten years older than Dali. When he met her, she was married to Paul Eluard. Gala decided to stay with Dali. She became his companion, his muse, his sexual partner, his model in numerous art works and his business manager. For him she was everything. Most of all Gala was a stabilizing factor in his life. And she managed his success in the 1930s with exhibitions in Europe and the United States. Gala was legally divorced from her husband in 1932. In 1934 Dali and Gala were married in a civil ceremony...
