London-born artist Chris Bracey (1954-2014) worked with neon and lights for three decades. His father, a neon sign-maker for fairgrounds, arcades, and the like, taught Bracey the trade at an early age. Bracey salvaged lights from fairgrounds, film props, and vintage signs to repurpose them into contemporary Pop sculptures that conjured a sense of wonder, nostalgia, and glamor.
First exhibited across the Soho district in London, Bracey’s works were thereafter exhibited within both the UK and the US. They may be found in public collections worldwide, and have been featured prominently in films such as Batman, Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut, and the Dylan Thomas biopic. He also secured placement of his works in the private collections of Vivienne Westwood, Stella McCartney, David LaChapelle, and more.
