Colorful neon abstract contemporary circular painting by Houston, TX artist, David Hardaker. This painting features various rings of shades of neon teal, pink, green, and dark blue. Signed and titled by the artist at the back. Unframed but framing options are available.
Artist Biography: Born in the United Kingdom, currently living and working in Houston, Texas, David studied technical illustration at Blackpool and Fylde college of art.
His earlier work leaned heavily on his illustration background.
These figurative oil paintings were constructed to act as a story in short form. A person with an invented history, on the brink of action or in repose, often with song lyrics carved into the freshly applied oil paint. The work was well accepted. Art of England magazine chose a painting of his for their cover, he was the overall and peoples choice winner of the Wrexham Art open, and was voted Houston Press artist of the year in 2014.
After showing consistently in the USA and England, David opened and ran an art gallery first in Galveston, Texas, and then in Houston. After a six-year run he returned to painting full time with a new body of work, the circles.
“The choice of the circle is at once arbitrary yet entirely appropriate. It lends me a structure within which to just paint and is a pure response to the music I choose.”
The shape is constant and a gateway to a symphonic whirl of color composition that evolves line by line, layer upon layer. Optical effects may be encountered but this is a by-product and not the intention. Each finished artwork carries a title of a piece of music.

Artist Biography:
DUAL stands for the conflict between “street art” and “fine” art, between freeway burners and gallery exhibitions, between mass recognition and total anonymity. His bold lines and fresh colors are a break from the every day monotony of life in the city—a taste of urban subculture, whether you asked for it or not.
While one may not have a choice in where and when they encounter a DUAL piece, DUAL leaves it up to the observer to assign a meaning to his work. By operating under a pseudonym, he lets his audience write their own narrative for who he is and the message he is trying to get across.
Perhaps best known for his work with wheat paste, particularly since his feature in the 2011 wheat pasting documentary Stick ‘Em Up!, DUAL has never been one to confine himself to a particular medium, background, or context.
He has been recognized not only for his work with silkscreen and spray paint, but also for his work with lithography and acrylics. Though his obsession with “making marks” stems from his background in graffiti, he has translated that into a passion for creating art.
