About the Item
The Messenger” is a portrait of presence both seen and unseen. Dressed in formal strength, the figure emerges from a clouded realm, flanked by ghostlike silhouettes that evoke spirits, memories, or ancestral guides. He looks directly at us, finger pointed, as if to interrupt our gaze and demand attention.
Above him, a paper plane floats as a symbol of fragile yet intentional transmission. He is the bearer of news, of legacy, of quiet truths too often ignored. The work questions: Who do we listen to? And what voices have we silenced in ourselves and others?

About Artist
Emmanuel Ojebola was born in southwest Nigeria, Eruwa, Oyo state, in the late 90s. He had his secondary education in the Baptist Model High School, Sango Eruwa, where he developed his interest in the arts during the course of his junior secondary school education.
His interest in art came from learning from his then-creative art teacher (Mr. Segun Adesope) before proceeding to improve his art skills at the Ibarapa Polytechnic Eruwa. He loves to work with mixed media, but mainly with coffee, acrylic, and oil. His passion for African black women and children, with the childhood care he got from his mother during his childhood days, is an inexhaustible source of inspiration.
He believes women are Virgos and sees them as gods here on earth. He sees himself as a creator who uses his coffee to create human figures with depth and meaningful art pieces.
Emmanuel Ojebola now practices as a full-time studio artist with a well-known and talented artist, Oluwole Omofemi. And he sees the likes of Cesar Santos, Eddie Filer, and Oluwole Omofemi as inspirational figures. He sees his art as a part of him and a way for him to express the way he sees the world and its beauty.
