Lee Herring
Lee Herring was born in Sunderland, in north-east England. After excelling in Art throughout his early education, he went on to study fine art at the University of Chester where he developed his painting style. Herring graduated with 1st class honors and was awarded the University Prize for his work. Years of dedication to his creative practice has cultivated Herring’s current multimedia style. Each of Herring’s paintings evolves through a spontaneous process. The conventional paintbrush is abandoned as Herring employs layers of impasto pastel hues in acrylic, markers, neon spray paint and a glaze of varnish with pallet knives, trowels and scrapers. The physicality of his work is evident in the visceral nature of his paintings. Sell-out shows and professional collaborations characterize Herring's international presence as his style constantly develops. His artworks are displayed and represented internationally with a strong following of investors, collectors and reputable galleries.
