About the Item
Marta Moreno is a textile artist based in Mexico City who embraces embroidery as her primary medium of expression. What began in childhood as a playful activity has evolved into a powerful artistic practice that challenges gender norms and redefines traditional craft. Working primarily with punch needle and embroidery, she treats thread like brushstrokes—infusing her pieces with volume, movement, and texture.
Since 2020, Moreno has developed a deeply tactile approach rooted in the observation of natural patterns, biological textures, and organic structures. Her work invites quiet contemplation, engaging the senses through rhythm and materiality. For Moreno, embroidery is more than a technique—it’s a form of resistance and affirmation in an increasingly digital world.
She is the founder of MoreMore Studio, where she continues to explore the poetic and political potential of textile art.
