About the Item
Monica DeSalvo’s "Fallen Dream" is a 12 x 18 minimalist abstract mixed media collage on mat board with bright blue, chartreuse green, black, gray, white, yellow, red, and a hint of purple. Transparent, metallic pearlescent, and aged white paper elements stand out from the pale blue-gray board which has a wove finish. Collage elements include acrylic monotype fragments created with a Gelli plate printed onto vintage textbook pages and a document once belonging to the artist’s late father. Also from his paper memorabilia is the black and white photo fragment and bits of translucent graph paper. The colorful print fragment has added tempera paint stick markings. The signature is below the image.
