About the Item
Monica DeSalvo’s “System Liability" is a 16 x 20 abstract collage, deconstructed and reassembled as five separate parallel panels. The collage was built on an acrylic monotype created with a Gelli plate in shades of bright red, purple, and blue. All of the collage elements, some black and white, are from vintage textbooks once belonging to the artist’s late father. The monotype was printed on thick, textured paper. The five panels are of varying sizes and assembled at different heights, out of order on slightly off white, textured, archival paper, adding another dimension. The signature is on the front below the image.

Monica DeSalvo is a Boston-based mixed-media artist and designer with a BFA in Visual Design from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.
