About the Item
Monica DeSalvo’s “And With Waves” is a 18 x 24 abstract mixed media collage on Yupo paper with bright and dark blue, brown, black, white, rust, and orange. Elements include fragments from monotypes printed with a Gelli plate onto vintage documents and textbook pages once belonging to the artist's late father, a charcoal drawing, and professional paper samples. On one paper sample the German writing “und mit wellen” translates to “and with waves.” The bold elements are arranged in an irregular cluster, which create a circular motion. Yupo paper is a durable, synthetic, non-absorbent paper with a unique smooth surface. The signature is below the image.
