Ups and downs, joys and burns.
Moments sweet, moments sour,
Such is life, in every hour.
Dreams bloom, dreams fade away,
Hopes rise, hopes fade to gray.
Yet in every ebb and flow,
We find the strength to grow and know.
Such is life, a mix of all,
A tale of rise and fall.
Embracing every moment's grace,
We find our place in life's embrace.
This piece, titled "Such is Life," is my visual meditation about my mixed emotions, capturing the profound acceptance of existence’s complexity. I chose an abstract expressionist approach to convey the visceral nature of the "twists and turns," allowing chaotic, energetic brushstrokes to mingle with areas of calm, reflective color. The composition is bisected by a turbulent vertical channel, symbolizing the inherent "ups and downs" and the constant "ebb and flow." Yet, at the core of this turbulence, a warm, resonant light breaks through, achieved using layered, luminous pigments. This central glow represents the ultimate message: that in embracing the entire "mix of all"—the sweet and the sour, the rise and the fall—we discover a deep, grounded sense of belonging, and the quiet strength to grow and know. The work is a testament that life's beauty lies not in perfection, but in its dramatic, unapologetic wholeness. (Written by the Artist)

About Artist
Oluwatimileyin Tega is a self-taught and multidisciplinary visual artist based in Ibadan, Nigeria. Growing up in Nigeria, they were surrounded by the rich cultural heritage and artistic traditions of the tribes. This exposure sparked an early passion for art.
After honing their skills in various media, Oluwatimileyin Tega developed a distinctive style that blends traditional techniques with contemporary themes and innovative materials. His work has been showcased in an exhibition and an installation.

As a visual artist, I explore the intersection of color, texture, and emotion to create vibrant, thought-provoking pieces that invite viewers to immerse themselves in my world. Inspired by nature, human experience, and the mysteries of the universe, my work blends figurative and abstract elements to capture the beauty and complexity of life.
