Moment of Reflections 1
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
In "Moment of Reflections," Olatunbosun transports the audience into a world of contemplation and self-discovery. The centerpiece of the artwork is a young man seated in a casual, relaxed manner. His pose conveys a sense of tranquility as if he has found solace in the moments of quiet contemplation. The attention to detail in the artwork is striking, with intricate brushwork bringing out the textures of the subject's clothing and the surrounding environment. The setting of the artwork is deliberately minimalistic, allowing the viewer to focus entirely on the young man's expression and demeanor. The background is a subtle blend of soft colors, suggesting an ethereal space where thoughts roam freely. This simplicity further accentuates the theme of reflection, as the absence of distractions allows viewers to immerse themselves in their own thoughts while contemplating the emotions conveyed by the subject. Olatunbosun's "Moment of Reflections" is a remarkable piece that resonates deeply with viewers from all walks of life. The young man's expression exudes a sense of inner peace, prompting viewers to ponder their own life experiences and contemplate the paths they have taken. This introspective quality of the artwork creates an intimate connection between the audience and the subject, allowing for a deeply personal and emotional experience. The painting's title, "Moment of Reflections," is deliberately chosen to reinforce the idea of taking a moment for self-exploration and soul-searching. In the hustle and bustle of modern life, we often overlook the importance of pausing and reflecting on our journey. Olatunbosun's artwork serves as a gentle reminder to find time for introspection and to appreciate the beauty in moments of quietude. What makes "Moment of Reflections" even more extraordinary is its ability to transcend cultural boundaries. The emotions depicted in the artwork are universal, touching the core of human experiences. Whether the viewer is from the artist's homeland or halfway across the world, the profound message remains relevant – we all share moments of contemplation and self-discovery in our lives. In conclusion, Samson Olatunbosun's "Moment of Reflections" is a timeless masterpiece that captures the human spirit with its simplicity and emotional depth. Through his brilliant artistic skill, Olatunbosun creates an atmosphere of introspection, inviting viewers to engage in their own moments of contemplation and self-discovery. This extraordinary artwork serves as a poignant reminder of the power of art to connect us all through our shared humanity and emotions. As we gaze upon the young man seated in a relaxed manner, we are reminded to embrace the beauty of silence, to reflect on our past, and to seek meaning in the present – a truly profound and impactful journey offered by the artistic genius of Samson Olatunbosun. Symbol of Memories
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
Symbol of Memories 1 is an original painting by Oladimeji Alabi. Oladimeji created the Symbol of Memories with Mixed Media on a 30W by 50H inches primed canvas. The symbol of Memories is inspired by the story of my childhood. The objects and signs we grew up with as a child in our homes become symbols of our memories today. Art has the ability to evoke strong emotions and convey meaningful messages. One such artwork that does just that is "Symbol of Memories," a stunning piece that uses the mother as a symbol of life and hope. This artwork is made even more significant by the use of damask fabric, which was popular among Nigerian women in the late 70s to 90s and used for making gele, the head ties worn by women. The artwork speaks volumes about the importance of mothers in society. The mother is dressed in a vibrant damask fabric, which adds a sense of richness and texture to the painting. The use of damask fabric in the painting is significant as it represents a part of Nigerian culture and history. Damask was a popular fashion among Nigerian women in the late 70s to 90s and was used to make gele, the head ties worn by women on special occasions. The fabric is often associated with elegance, sophistication, and beauty, which adds a layer of meaning to the artwork. The mother in the painting is the focal point of the artwork, symbolizing the importance of mothers in society. Mothers are the backbone of families, providing love, support, and guidance to their children. They are often the ones who hold families together through difficult times, serving as a symbol of hope and resilience. The use of the damask fabric in the painting also represents the concept of memories. The fabric has a rich history in Nigerian culture, and for many people, it is a symbol of their childhood and the memories they hold dear. The painting serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving memories, both good and bad, and how they shape our lives. Overall, "Symbol of Memories" is a beautiful piece of art that celebrates the role of mothers in society. The use of damask fabric adds a layer of meaning to the painting, representing the importance of preserving memories and the rich culture of Nigeria. The mother as a focused subject symbolizes life and hope, the fabric applied in this art is called damask, which was a popular fashion among Nigerian women around the late 70s to 90s used for making gele(the head ties). Shipping Procedure Ships in a well-protected tube from Nigeria This work is unique, not a print or other type of copy. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (Issued by the Gallery) About Artist Oladimeji Alabi is an experimental contemporary visual artist based in Lagos. Untitled, Figurative, Ink, Brush, Dry Pastel on Paper Jogen Chowdhury "In Stock"
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Jogen Chowdhury - Untitled, 14 x 11 inches ( Unframed Size ) Ink with Brush & Dry Pastel on Paper, 2014 Style : He has immense contribution in inspiring young artists of India. Jogen Chowdhury had developed his individual style after his return from Paris. Jogen Chowdhury has been widely acknowledged to be, the master of the unbroken line. Like Léger, Chowdhury has been stirred by the linear Kalighat pat tradition, but his lines are emotive and used to express and suggest the character of a person. This is done by, distorting the form without breaking the line and in the world of young, contemporary art; distortion has been Jogen Chowdhury’s most significant impact. Perhaps, because of this, a common observation of his work is that his “people” are caricatures. The person feels familiar to the viewer but it is far more individualised - the face is imaginary but the psyche or characteristics are real. The power and beauty of his technique and line is this play between the known and unknown. In Jogen Chowdhury’s work, the figure is always in the foreground, it is primary, it conveys everything. He uses colour to give volume to his figures and the fluidity of his lines bring a sensual aspect to his forms. About the Artist & his works : Born : 1939 in Daharpara Village, Faridpur, Bangladesh. Jogen Chowdhury is an eminent Indian painter and considered an important painter of 21st century India. Family Background: His father Pramatnath Chowdhury was a Brahmin zamindar. Both his parents took interest in art, Jogen Chowdhury's father Pramatnath Chowdhury painted several mythological scenes from the village theatres and also sculpted various Hindu icons. Whereas his mother was an expert in Alpana drawings. 1939-47 Jogen Chowdhury lived in a village atmosphere. And after partition in 1948, the whole family shifted. Till 1951 the whole family stayed at the police department quarter of his uncle, where on the walls Jogen Chowdhury painted his first painting, 1962 Jogen Chowdhury was employed as Designer in the Handloom Board. Education: 1955-60: Studied at the Government College of Art and Crafts, Kolkata. 1965 : He went to paris to study in Ecole des Beaux Arts, in William Hayter’s Atelier 17. Professional Experience: 1968-72 : He worked as an Art-Designer, Madras Handloom Board, Madras. 1970 : A collection of his poems were published, titled 'Hridoy Train Beje Othey'. 1987 : Joined Kala Bhavan , Santiniketan as a professor of painting. Selected Exhibitions: 1972, 1975 & 1978 respectively : I, III, IV Triennales at New Delhi . 1979: The Sao Paolo Biennale . 1980: The exhibitions at the Fukuoka Museum, Japan. 1982: The Royal Academy, London. 1982: The Hirschhorn Museum, Washington D.C. 1986: The II Havana Biennale 1989: 'Festival of India', in Geneva 2002: Saffron art...
