This is a private writing between the Countess and mentor, Anna Laetitia Pecci-Blunt and the artist Franco Gentilini, after a sale of his artwork at the Rive Gauche Galery, Paris.
A Sale of Gentilini's oil is a autograph receipt by the Countess Pecci- Blunt, on behalf of Franco Gentilini.
July 8th 1953. In Italian. One page, single-sided. On light blue paper, on letterhead "Lumen in Coelo - 3 Piazza Aracoeli - Roma". Excellent condition.
Written by A.L. Pecci-Blunt, with a further autograph receipt signed by Vanda Augustini "Mother".
Franco Gentilini (Faenza, 1909 – Rome, 1981)
The Italian painter, Franco Gentilini, at the beginnings worked as a ceramist in Faenza and collaborated with Giovanni Romagnoli and Giorgio Morandi in Bologna. He took part in numerous editions of the Venice Biennale. After been accepted for the 17th International Art Exhibition in Venice in 1930, he also visited Paris. After the French capital, he moved to Rome in 1932 and held his first solo show at the Galleria di Roma with artworks in an archaic style inspired by pre-Renaissance Italian art. He also established himself as a fresco painter. It was in the late 1930s that he began to associate with the artists of the Roman School, thaks to the friendship of the Countess Pecci-Blunt. There was considerable demand for his work among private Italian collectors after World War II and still today.
Countess Anna Laetitia Pecci-Blunt (Rome, 1885 - Marlia, 1971)
Best-known as "Mimì" Pecci-Blunt , the Italian noblewoman was an art collector, patron and nephew of Pope Leo XIII. Extremely volcanic, she was very active in the cultural field, opening numerous lounges, galleries and theaters. In 1919 she married Cecil Blumenthal, later changed to Blunt, a wealthy Jewish banker from New York, heir to an important collection of nineteenth-century French painting. His Parisian and Roman salons was frequented by artists and intellectuals of the caliber of Salvador Dalì, Paul Valery, Poulenc, Paul Claudel, and Aldo Palazzeschi!

The ancient, original document of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany was framed, in recent times, by a skilled Florentine master craftsman who used a frame in precious wood and painted gold. Peter Gee (1932–2005) was a British-born artist and developer who spent most of his life living and working in New York City. He was active in the pop art movement of the 60s.
Biography:
Gee was born on July 23, 1932 in Leicestershire, England. He was interested in drawing as a child and worked as a graphic designer for the British army when he joined at the age of 18. By the end of the 50s, he had exhibited at the Denise Rene Gallery in Paris, where he lived briefly, and the Axiom Gallery in London. He came to the US in 1962.
Throughout the 60s, Gee experienced a high degree of success as a pop artist in Manhattan. His work from this era has been collected by The Museum of Modern Art in both New York City and Kyoto, The Smithsonian and the Library of Congress in Washington DC, and The Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Gee exhibited with Andy Warhol and Robert Indiana for the "Word and Image" show in 1968 at the Museum of Modern Art. During this time, he was also teaching classes at the New School, the School of Visual Arts, and the Harvard Architectural School.
