About the Artist
Artist George Peebles paints vibrant landscapes that often feature sweeping skies, fields, and woodlands. "My art is a reflection of the place inside each of us where we connect to nature," says George. He earned his BA from Kendall College of Art and Design and views his practice as a lifelong learning process. George began his career painting abstracts, later shifting to abstract realism with interpretations of Michigan’s seasonal changes. Born with red/green colorblindness, he sees the world through a distinctive lens, favoring high-contrast and brilliant colors. He works from a converted outbuilding studio on his Grand Rapids property, surrounded by drying canvases and a collection of ’70s records. Outside of painting, George is a chef at a local hospital.

George Peebles
George Peebles is an award-winning artist specializing in contemporary landscape oils. He is a resident of Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he attended Kendall College of Art and Design. His paintings are characterized by their pleasing combination of brilliant hues and rich skies. He describes his art as a reflection of the place inside each of us where we connect to nature.
