Jurate's work explores the materiality of textiles and engages with themes of femininity, identity, and the cultural codes embedded in everyday life. Incorporating threads, non-woven fabrics, nylons, and other soft materials, she employs sewing, crocheting, and stuffing techniques in what she calls her “soft sculpture technique.” Her practice is rooted in a deep sensitivity to the tactile and sensory qualities of materials, emphasizing the act of making as an embodied, meditative process that connects the physical and emotional dimensions of being.
Through this approach, Jurate creates intricate systems that suggest a living interplay between the human body and the natural world. Forms resembling branches, roots, and organic growths emerge as extensions of the body—metaphors for connection, transformation, and renewal. Her work often draws attention to the way touch, texture, and material engagement can restore awareness of our own sensory nature, proposing a dialogue between the inner and outer worlds. In these sculptural environments, the viewer is invited to experience a sense of balance and reciprocity, where the boundaries between humanity and nature dissolve into a shared vitality.
