A vibrant, textured palette knife painting captures the beauty and luminosity of the California coast. Wildflowers in the foreground fill the scene, framing the distant cliffs. Muted sky and sea merge in the background.


About the Artist
Artist Lisa Elley paints impressionist landscapes full of texture and movement. Using her signature impasto technique, she captures the beauty of California and scenes from her travels. "More than any one location, I'm inspired by the atmosphere, the feeling of standing somewhere and knowing it will stay with you," says Lisa. She grew up on a small farm in New Zealand, where the lush countryside shaped her early artistic vision and inspired her to pursue a career in fine arts. Passionate about experiencing new things, she moved to London, New York, and Florida before eventually settling in the San Francisco Bay Area. She works at her studio in the historic San Jose cannery, with a 30-foot ceiling and full of natural light. When not making art, Lisa spends her time with her family.

Sherri Aldawood didn't intend to always paint flowers, but over time her love of gardens started to permeate her art. She focuses on the light and color of the flowers on the canvas. He was educated at Howard University in Washington, D.C., the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and the Barnes Foundation in Merion, Pennsylvania. Howard was also art director of the Pyramid Club, a respected black cultural center in Philadelphia.
