About the Item
This Celadon Persimmon Vase by Living National Treasure Manji Inoue embodies quiet grace and refined beauty. The rounded form is covered in a soft, translucent celadon glaze that glows with a gentle, jade-like light. Delicate relief carvings of persimmons and branches wrap around the surface, capturing a moment of nature suspended in porcelain. The subtle contrast between the pale white fruit and the cool celadon body creates a sense of calm balance, elegant, understated, and timeless.
Born in Arita, Saga Prefecture, Manji Inoue mastered the traditions of Arita porcelain while developing his own serene vision of celadon. His works are celebrated for their purity of glaze, precision of form, and quiet strength. In 1995 he was designated a Living National Treasure for his mastery of celadon. This piece reflects his lifelong pursuit of simplicity and beauty where craftsmanship and poetry meet in perfect harmony.
