"HRH Princess Julia" - Hyperrealist Portrait Painting by Georgina Clapham
Located in West Hollywood, CA
This small vertical 31 inch high by 23.5 inch wide original oil painting on canvas is wired and ready to hang. The detail in this artwork is astounding. From the gaze and makeup details around the eyes to the the ornate jewelry, Princess Julia is absolutely sublime. The sides of the artwork are not painted and it does not require framing. It is signed and titled by the artist on the back of the artwork British painter Georgina Clapham conspicuously engages with story telling and theatricality, drawing together Renaissance portraiture, Greek Mythology, folklore, mysticism, animals, nature, the artificial, high fashion, subculture, gender, identity and sexuality, in her meticulous life size figurative paintings. Through the traditional media of oil paint on linen and intaglio printmaking, she creates her own contemporary mythologies. Staging her paintings using people in her everyday life, she infuses these timeless narratives with the intimacy and tangibility of her friendships and personal relationships drawing out their psychology and sexuality; as such, the works become as much a depiction of her own imagined narrative as of the individuals’ personality. She has previously attended City and Guilds of London Art School, 2013 and The Glasgow School of Art, 2014-16, where her work was purchased into the archive. In 2015 she was awarded The Richard Ford...

Located in Paris, FR
Embroidered textile painting Hand sewed, unique, hand-signed by the artist Penelope or Parque of modern times, Barbara d’Antuono sews by hand like others recite mantras and decides nothing in advance. She lets images arise without any particular coherence with each other, but to which she gives substance in a kind of urgency, in the form of a strip not drawn but sewn. The exhibition, like the eponymous book, covers seven years of this assiduous and patient work through nearly 30 textile works, real freeze frames made of the emotions and memories of the artist, like so many portraits of humanity. . Cityscape, Acrylic on Canvas, Contemporary Indian Artist "In Stock"
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Fawad Tamakanat - Cityscape - 40 x 40 inches (unframed size) Acrylic on Canvas. Fawad Tamkanat, from Hyderabad participated with his slightly older works. One in which he is exploring the raging intrusion of technology in today's times. How digital images are influencing images, imagery and the traditional medium of painting. Portraying everyday activities like the work titled ‘Cafe House’ or exploring more serious concerns in his painting ‘Soldier’. Style : To say that Fawad Tamkanat`s work is narrative is a gross understatement. Throughout his career as an artist, he has strived to develop and then perfect a visual vocabulary that he can use to communicate with his viewers. And this language, that he uses to take on peoples` minds, has nothing to do with society, religion or politics, but, quite blatantly, is all about his own personal fixations. Fixations that include those with time, and one`s place in the general scheme of things. Fawad was born in Hyderabad in 1962, to a family that already had artistic inclinations running through its veins. His father was the famous Urdu poet, Shaz Tamkanat. Early in his career, Fawad was invited to participate in an installation workshop in Denmark where he also worked for a few months in the printmaking studios with renowned printmakers. He became very taken up with printmaking, and launched his professional exhibitions showing only monochromatic prints. Now Tamkanat experiments with several different media and surfaces, diversifying to include those like watercolours, acrylic, etching drypoint and tarpaulin in his oeuvre. Fawad has held twelve solo shows in India and abroad to his credit, and has participated in state, national and international exhibitions and group shows at major art centres. About the Artist & his work : Born : 1962 Education : Master of Fine Arts(Painting), S.N.S. Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Rahim Mirza - Untitled Acrylic on Canvas, 12 x 12 inches (unframed size) Born in 1969, Rahim Mirza completed his art education at Bharat Bhavan in Bhopal, where he studied printmaking. Mirza’s current body of work however, is largely made up of acrylics on canvas. The leaf occupies a central motif in much of his work, representing, perhaps, a multiplicity of emotions; while the appearance of the first leaf signifies Spring and renewal, the shedding of the brown leaves in Autumn heralds the onset of winter. It is these subtleties and the complexity of the simple motif that intrigue the artist. While Mirza focuses on the leaf, he chooses to remove it from its natural environment. Thus while the leaf is a prominent symbol in his work, there generally is no sign of a tree or any context beyond its form. In its multiplicity, the artist creates rhythm and meaning that is far beyond its reach. Mirza had his first solo exhibition at Crimson Art Gallery, Mumbai, in 2000. This was followed by others at Archer Art Gallery, Ahmedabad, in 2001; and Diara art Gallery in 2002. His work has also been a part of group shows like 'Collective Spaces' at M.E.C. Art Gallery, New Delhi, in 2006; 'Anadi' at the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, in 2000; and 'Vibgyor' at the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, also in 2000. Mirza has also participated in 'Samvet', the Madhya Pradesh exhibition at the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, in 1999; the Tokyo International Print Triennial in 1998; the 8th All India Art...
