About the Item
Artistic Iridescent Glass Vase with Leaf-Shaped Handles - Italy, Second Half of the 20th Century
H 28 cm x W 24 cm
Decorative blown glass vase, crafted using a complex technique of layering and polychrome reactions that evoke the use of metallic leaf-likely gold-fused into the glass mass. The surface displays a shimmering iridescence with changing reflections, and a speckled effect suggesting the use of powders or noble gases such as argon during the making process.
The spherical, ribbed body is adorned with two small hot-applied handles, stylized in the shape of leaves or wings, clearly inspired by organic forms. The overall impression is dynamic and vibrant: the blown and stretched material creates the effect of a torn, animated surface, constantly interacting with the light.
A unique piece, the result of refined Italian artistic and artisanal craftsmanship, made between the 1960s and 1980s, and in dialogue with contemporary explorations in art glass.

A coral sculpture - amulet with two dolphins, fruits and leaves, symbols of abundance and life.
Nineteenth century.
Weight 17gr
Created from a single sprig of coral, carved, engraved and polished.
Italian workmanship of the Trapani tradition, but difficult to place more precisely, as the Trapani artisans moved around Italy over time, forming, among other things, a lesser-known processing center in Livorno (Tuscany), the place of probable creation of this splendid object.
Sculpture with two fish, probably two dolphins, or 2 marine monsters, which transform themselves into a kind of cornucopia, from which fruits emerge in abundance.
The gift to the newborn therefore had a sense of protection and above all of future male fertility...
